Funding & Fees and how it works at Micklefield
All working families are entitled to 30hrs funding a week.
Micklefield Nursery are committed to help families return to work, so if you receive the 30hr funding; your child can start with us from 18mths.
For all other families; every child is entitled to 15hrs funding; the term after their 3rd birthday. For families who receive additional support; you may be eligible for up to 15hrs early learning funding. Simply Google ‘Better Start in life’ and follow the eligibility checker to see what your family can claim.
If successful, you will be given a code; keep that safe as you will need it prior to your child starting at Micklefield. The 'funding and fee chart' below shows how we offer the funded sessions and what additional costs there are; such as the 'Early Start' or 'Late Finish', and additional hours outside the funding.
Follow the link http://www.beststartinlife.gov.uk to see what your family can claim.
Micklefield’s funding and fee chart (FREE funded session and times are shaded).

Example:
Child A - has 30hrs funding for eligable working families and attends:
Monday/Wednesday and Thursday 10am-4pm = 18hrs of FREE funding claimed.
Child A would like to add on an Early Start and Late Finish on a Thursday:

Example:
Child B - has 2yr - 15hr disadvantage funding and attends:
Tuesday/Thursday 10am-4pm and Friday 10am-1pm = 15hrs FREE Funding.
Example:
Child C - is not yet eligible for funding, as they are not 3yrs until the New Year.
They would like one session a week to ‘get used to Nursery’, Wednesday 9am-12pm session charged at £8 per hour = £24 per week.
(Home for lunch).
Example:
Child D - is 18mths and has the 30hr funding for working families.
However; the all-year-round nursery he currently attends; do not have space every day. The family need a full week. They are able to share their funding over two settings. The child currently uses 18 funded hours at the all-year-round nursery; and has 12hrs left to use at Micklefield. This means the child can come for 2 full days at Micklefield to help with the family working pattern.
(If the family only do 10am-4pm there are no additional charges/ if the family want 8am-5:30pm; then it’s an additional £30 per day).
